FAQs
We understand that starting therapy can come with questions. Here are answers to some frequently asked questions about what to expect from therapy, scheduling, sessions, and other helpful information to help you feel comfortable taking the next step.
How do I know if therapy is right for me?
You do not need to be experiencing a crisis to benefit from therapy. People seek therapy for many reasons, including anxiety, depression, stress, difficult life changes, past experiences, relationship concerns, or simply feeling stuck. Therapy can provide a supportive space to better understand what you are experiencing and identify ways to move forward.
What can I expect during my first therapy session?
Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another. We’ll talk about what brought you to therapy, what you have been experiencing, and what you hope to gain from our work together. It is also an opportunity for you to ask questions and determine whether you feel comfortable with the therapeutic relationship.
What types of concerns do you work with?
Heal Psychotherapy LLC supports individuals experiencing a variety of emotional and life challenges. Areas of focus include anxiety and stress, depression, life transitions, trauma and emotional healing, grief, relationship and family concerns, self-esteem, coping difficulties, and other challenges that may be affecting your well-being.
How often will I attend therapy?
The frequency of therapy depends on your individual needs, goals, and circumstances. Some individuals benefit from more regular sessions, while others may transition to less frequent appointments as they make progress. We can discuss a schedule that makes sense for you.
Are therapy sessions confidential?
Confidentiality is an important part of the therapeutic relationship. Information discussed during therapy is generally kept private, with certain exceptions required or permitted by law. Additional information about confidentiality and privacy will be provided as part of the therapy process.
Do you offer telehealth appointments?
Yes. Therapy sessions are available through telehealth, providing a convenient way to connect from a private and comfortable location.
Because professional licensing requirements generally determine where a therapist may provide services, eligibility for telehealth therapy depends on where you are physically located at the time of your session. Please contact Heal Psychotherapy LLC to determine whether services are available in your location.
Do you accept insurance?
Heal Psychotherapy LLC currently participates with UnitedHealthcare, Optum, Medicare, Aetna, and Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield. Self-pay options are also available. Insurance coverage and benefits can vary by individual plan, so we recommend confirming your mental health benefits directly with your insurance provider.
What should I do if I am experiencing an emergency?
Heal Psychotherapy LLC and this website are not intended to provide emergency or crisis services. If you are experiencing an immediate or life-threatening emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department.
