Amy Metzger, LCSW

Compassionate Care Built Around You

With more than 25 years of experience as a psychotherapist, Amy Metzger, LCSW, is dedicated to helping individuals navigate life’s challenges with greater understanding, confidence, and emotional well-being. She believes therapy should provide a supportive environment where you can speak openly, feel heard, and explore what you’re experiencing without fear of judgment.

Amy understands that every person comes to therapy with a different story. Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, she takes the time to understand your experiences, concerns, strengths, and goals. Together, you can begin identifying patterns, exploring difficult emotions, and developing practical strategies that support meaningful change.

An Approach Centered Around You

Amy’s approach to therapy is compassionate, collaborative, and personalized. She draws from a variety of therapeutic methods to create an experience that reflects the needs of each individual.

Therapy may involve exploring the thoughts and experiences contributing to how you feel today, developing healthier coping strategies, strengthening self-awareness, or finding new ways to approach challenges. The goal is to create a space where you can gain insight while also developing practical tools that can support you beyond the therapy session.

Amy works with individuals experiencing anxiety and stress, depression, life transitions, trauma and emotional challenges, grief, relationship concerns, self-esteem issues, and other circumstances that can affect emotional well-being.

More Than Managing Symptoms

Therapy can be about more than finding relief from what feels difficult today. It can also provide an opportunity to better understand yourself, recognize your strengths, and make changes that positively influence how you experience your life and relationships.

Amy helps clients explore the patterns and experiences that may be keeping them feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck. Through a supportive therapeutic relationship, clients can work toward greater clarity, healthier coping skills, stronger emotional resilience, and a renewed sense of direction.

Experience You Can Feel Confident In

With over 25 years of professional experience, Amy brings both clinical knowledge and a deeply personal approach to her work. Throughout her career, she has supported individuals through many different stages of life and a wide range of emotional challenges.

That experience has reinforced her belief that meaningful therapy begins with listening. By creating a relationship built on trust, compassion, and understanding, Amy helps clients feel comfortable exploring difficult experiences while working toward positive and lasting change.

A Little About Amy

Outside of her work as a therapist, Amy enjoys spending time at the beach, practicing yoga, baking, walking her dog, and spending time with her three adult children. These parts of her life reflect many of the same values she brings to her work: connection, balance, personal growth, and making space for the things that bring meaning and joy.
